One of my most frequent asked questions is how do I manage to stay healthy without extra effort. My story always leads to the day I changed my morning routine. I basically lived years and years thinking that being bloated was “normal”. Well, at least I convinced myself of it. Until I met Jeff, my husband, and he mentioned he never eats breakfast, just has coffee instead. My reaction then was the same I now get when people ask me how I do it: But it’s the most important meal of the day!! *shocked face. Even though I absolutely love breakfast food and can’t live without bacon, I had to give it a try. A few weeks into it I noticed that my energy levels went up (waaaay up) and my bloating disappeared. That’s that. This simple adjustment changed my life. Sounds crazy but this – below – is what I do have every morning and it helps me stay active and healthy all the way till noon. Here’s how I prepare my coffee, a healthy cup of delicious Heaven I cannot live without:
1. Buy whole coffee beans it’s pretty forward, the whole beans retain the flavor and nutrients plus it will give you that fresh flavor and smell you love so much from your favorite coffee shop.
3. Grind your beans at home we use a grinder to make coffee fresh in the moment. The results in flavor and smell make such a big difference. Our entire home smells like heaven.
4. Use a french press it’s super simple to use and great for having coffee made in the moment. You can also keep it chill in the fridge.
5. Add coconut cream substituting milk with coconut cream is the KEY of it all. Instead of making you bloated it will give you energy to get your day started right away as well as giving you so many benefits: helps build muscle and burn fat, prevents fatigue, provides electrolytes, manages sugars and prevents diabetes… the list goes on and on. This is what literally changed my life!
6. Add (vanilla) Stevia for all of you with a sweet tooth this one’s for you, it will give your coffee a delicious sweet hint minus the calories. Um, yes, a no-brainer! That’s not all, Stevia also has many benefits such as: protects your teeth and gums, reduces wrinkles and fine lines, reduces acne and dandruff, controls high blood pressure. Who would have thought so many great things could come out of a cup of coffee?! 😉
Time to drink up! Let me know if you give it a try on the comments below.
