Hi guys! I know it took me a minute to write this Travel Post but better late than never. I’m so excited to share with you our little weekend getaway and how it all went down. July is a special month for me, not only it’s my birthday month but also our wedding anniversary. Given the situation that we live in now we debated wether or not we wanted to go somewhere this year but a little 2 hour road trip seemed like the perfect option.
We stayed at the Hotel Californian, literally a dream hotel! It’s located exactly in front of the Santa Barbara pier and it’s surrounded by amazing restaurants. Every little nook is beautifully decorated and it made us feel like we were in a different country. The staff was super friendly, happy and attentive.
I think it’s safe to say that the selling point for me was the rooftop. With a pool and amazing views of the ocean, excellent food plus the best Bloody Mary I’ve ever had, it was where we basically spent all Saturday enjoying the moment and taking it all in.
PRO TIP: The Hotel has rooms in 4 different buildings. Make sure to request a room in the same building as the rooftop when making your reservation. This way you won’t have to cross the street every time you want to enjoy the pool. We we’re lucky to have stayed there without knowing.
We chose Santa Barbara because we wanted an entire weekend of relaxation, in other words, of doing nothing haha. It’s such a cute town to walk around and explore all the coffee shops and restaurants but we specifically wondered outside of the main street and touristy options. Per usual, we like to find the local and unique spots. Two MUST TRY when in SB are the Bouchon and Barbareño.
It was a beautiful, relaxing weekend. Taking this little break really helped me reset and recharge in so many ways! If you’ve been thinking about visiting Santa Barbara, I highly recommend you do it. Let me know via Instagram if you know of any other places we must try next time we go!
