I’m so, sooooo excited for the Holiday break! Jeff and I are heading to Chicago for Christmas and NYE! I visited his home town for the 1st time last year during the Summer and completely fell in love with Chi-town. Amazing food, gorgeous landscapes and the sweetest people I’ve ever met. It doesn’t get any better than that! This being said, I can’t wait to go back in a few weeks and experience it all over again during Winter – cue the Christmas music, lights, hot cocoa and SNOW.
We all know that there’s nothing worst than getting sick during a a vacation or Holiday break. So I wanted to share 5 easy tips I do to prevent this from happening. I really swear by this – I can’t remember the last time I got sick during a trip. Hope this helps you in any way and wish you the best time with your loved ones during this Holiday Season!
LOTS OF VITAMIN C Traveling normally involves, flights, change of weather and exposure to new things. Vitamin C everyday, a few weeks prior to your trip will help your body fight anything that may come your way. Specially when traveling to cold destinations.
HYDRATE / COCONUT WATER With all the fun activities and distractions it’s easy to forget to stay hydrated. Drinking coconut water will give you all the electrolytes you need and will boost your immune system while keeping you energized.
STAY ACTIVE / WORK OUT Don’t know about you but it’s during the Holidays that I go crazy for all things sweet and starchy (I blame it on the cold weather). Working out at least twice during the Christmas break will make you feel sane again plus will keep your body working in a healthy steady way.
TECH FREE / STRESS FREE Ever gotten back from a vacation feeling like you didn’t get any rest? Me too! A break from everything, including technology is a great idea to focus on being in the moment and staying away from stress. Easier said than done but so worth it!
ENOUGH SLEEP Take advantage of this Holiday break and get in more hours of sleep. Your body will thank you in the New Year. Take your time, there’s no rush. You’re on vacation!
